Malta has a mediterranean climate, Almost 6 months a year are considered swimming season, with the summer months reaching highs of +40 degrees celius. Rain mainly occurs in winter with and average totalof 0.3 mm in July and 110mm in December . Being an island, Malta gets its fair share of windy days.
Courage
By nature the Maltese are very good hosts, every meet is an occasion to eat or Drink, the local beer is crafted to excellence and form an integral part of the social gatherings. Malta was awarded the George cross in 1942 as a gesture from King George VI to commemorate the courage, resilience and bravery by the Maltese in times of Great danger.
Culture
Culture is very heavily influenced by the array of rulers the island had over the past centuries. Some say that the culture of opposites and competition derives from the fact that the habitants often had to take sides in order to secure a sense of belonging. Every town sports a minimum of 2 band clubs, often representing different saints, once a year each town celebrates the town feast and no expenses are spared in order to show case the biggest parade, best fireworks or the dressing up and clubs and the streets with statues, banners and illuminated rope lights.
