Spring

Starting from March the temperature starts to warm up and offers , according to some, the ideal climate for nice stroll or a picnic on the beach. The average temperature is normally around 22 degrees centigrade and the sea is calm but still cold for a swim.

Summer

Summer in Malta shows no mercy with recorded temperatures of up to 45 degrees centigrade. the swimming season normally start well before the official summer period,  unofficially the swimming season is opened on the feast of St Gregory ( first Wednesday after Easter Sunday). During the summer season at least one village feast is celebrated in honour of the village patron saint. In total Malta celebrates around 60 village feasts in Malta and around 20 in the Island of Gozo.
